Anastacia has never liked being famous.
The 'I'm Outta Love' singer - who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003 - has warned young stars to be wary of the pitfalls of celebrity.
She said: "The C word is the hardest thing I've ever done and I'm not talking about cancer. I'm talking about my career.
"It can be so hard being famous. It's not even a love/hate thing for me as I've never loved it.
"It's tough, so I just say, ‘Don't let fame take over your life.' "
The 40-year-old star - who has released four studio albums - recently revealed she doesn't like music and has never bought a CD.
She said: "This might sound unbelievable but I really don't like music.
Music has never moved me. It doesn't do anything for me. To be honest, I find it irritating.
"I prefer silence to listening to a CD. Listening to music doesn't relax me and I find it hard to think straight when it's on. I've never bought a record in my life."
